Pilates
Born in the late 1800's, Joseph Pilates was an innovator and a pioneer in the field of complete body fitness. He was a gymnast and boxer who studied yoga, martial arts, meditation, and rigorous ancient Greek and Roman exercises. His definition of ideal physical fitness was "the attainment and maintenance of a uniformly developed body with a sound mind fully capable of naturally, easily and satisfactorily performing our many and varied daily tasks with spontaneous zest and pleasure."
