In Other Dance News:

LDC will be hosting its next GUEST PARTY on Saturday February 6, 7 pm. Don’t miss out on a chance to win the LDC Guest Lottery as you share the fun of dancing with your friends and acquaintances.  Beginning with the Feb. Guest Party and culminating at the March Guest Party, each student who brings a new guest and he or she registers for the guest special ( 2 private lessons for $89) will be awarded ONE FREE PRIVATE LESSON.

In addition, $5 will be put in the LDC Guest Lottery every time a quest purchases the guest special. Each guest-getter will get a ticket for the lottery.  When the lottery ticket is drawn in March, the winner gets the all cash that is in the pot!

Our next OPEN HOUSE will be held Sunday, February 14, from 4:30 - 6pm.

The new 6-week session for all beginners' classes starts the week of February 14th. Classes include foxtrot/waltz, rumba/cha-cha, east coast swing, west coast swing, hustle, salsa, and general social dancing. $10 per person/per class (for a total of $60). See our web calendar for class schedule. Registration and $60 tuition for each 6-wk session is due by the first class.

Our next Couples Potluck Dinner & Dance is Saturday, February 13th, from 8-11 pm. $25 per couple. Bring your dance partner and a side dish or dessert.  LDC will supply a main dish and beverages. Valentine's Day Ball at LDC!

LDC is hosting an Open House and Valentine Dance on Sunday, February 14, from 4:30 to 9pm. The Open House will be held from 4:30 to 6pm. There is no cost for admission--meet our staff, take part in a beginners class, enjoy light refreshments, and take advantage of special pricing. Bring or send your guests so they can learn to dance too!

Following the Open House there will be a Valentine's Day Ballroom Dance, 6 to 9pm. Admission  is $10/person

LDC Spring Showcase is Just Around the Corner!

Ring in the new year at LDC! Join us for our 3rd Annual New Year's Eve Dinner Dance on December 31st, from 8pm to 12:30 am (or later)! Dinner will be served at 8:30pm, a champagne toast at midnight, and lots and lots of dancing!Ring in the new year at LDC! The LDC Spring Showcase will be held on Saturday, April 24th here in the LDC Studio. Student exhibitions will be held in the afternoon followed by a cocktail party, dinner, and dancing. 

Ask about dancing in the group presentations or solos and be sure to share the date with your families and friends!

Dance Etiquette 101

Dance etiquette is a delicate subject, so we would like to offer a little friendly advice on how not to offend other dancers on the dance floor and get that second dance! 

1.  Please remember that the traffic in a ballroom travels around the room counterclockwise, otherwise known as Line Of Dance (LOD). If you are going to dance an in-spot figure, please go to a corner or the center of the floor; if you are in the outside moving lanes do not stop and block the oncoming traffic, and please do not dance any figures that go against LOD.

2.  Since dancing brings us into such close proximity to others, make sure your breath is fresh and clean. We have mints at the front desk and by the microwave and we also sell a wonderful breath spray at the front desk for $1.50. Happy Dancing!
