The 2009 Spring Showcase A Smashing Success!

The 2009 LDC Spring Showcase Spectacular was just that! Spectacular! Over 100 students and guests enjoyed a wonderful evening of dining and dancing. The Top Overall Performance and Top Smooth Performance (Tango) was awarded to Jeannine Gurnack dancing with Minas Katsantouris. Runner up for Top Smooth Performance was Tim Stoner (Waltz) dancing with Esther Rehm. Top Rhythm Performance resulted in a tie between Susan Biebelhausen (Bolero) dancing with Minas Katsantouris and Marcy Capandona (Samba) dancing with Rob O'Bryant. The LDC Studio was transformed into an elegant ballroom with drapes, flowers, and candles. LDC Instructors Compete in Local Edition of "Dancing with the Stars"

We are very excited that LDC instructors Minas Katsantouris and Rob O'Bryant were chosen to compete with local celebrities in Cleveland's own version of Dancing with the Stars! Minas is partnered with radio DJ Rebecca Wilde, one half of the popular morning show "Wilde & Fee." Rob is dancing with Elizabeth Kucinich, wife of Congressman Dennis Kucinich.

The show airs every Tuesday for 10 weeks on NewsChannel 5 between 5am and 7am. You can also view the dancers and vote online at: http://www.newsnet5.com/entertainment/index.html. Just like the regular Dancing with the Stars, viewers cast votes for their favorites and the person receiving the fewest votes each week is eliminated. Don't forget to cast your vote!!

Cleveland Dancing with the Stars will be held at Let's Dance! Cleveland on both Sunday, April 19th, and Sunday, April 26th. Please come and be a part of the studio audience. Taping begins at 3pm. Call the studio (216.464.5325) for more information.

Diana McDonald returns to LDC......Perhaps!

Due to the great response to former US Champion Diana McDonald's last visit in January, we are considering having her back for round 2, but we need to hear from you! We are planning her return trip in either May or June.

Brigham Young BDC Formation Team Coming to Cleveland

Brigham Young's famous Ballroom Dance Company Formation team will be performing at the Chagrin Falls Schools Performing Arts Center, Thursday, May 7th, at 7:30 pm.They are the first Americans to ever win the prestigious British Formation Championships, a feat they have repeated an unprecedented 10 times. They have also competed in the World Formation Championships and consistently earned top honors in the United States National Formation Championships.
