Darschelle Lawler
Darschelle began her ballroom dance career while attending Yale University in 1996. She studied ballroom dance with Alex Scott and competed with the Yale Ballroom Dance Team at schools such as Harvard, Yale and MIT. During the summer of her junior year, she placed in numerous finals at the USA Dance National DanceSport Competition in Indianapolis and won the Adult American Smooth event consisting of waltz, tango and foxtrot. After graduation, she returned to her hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. There she studied with Let's Dance! owners Esther Rehm and Tim Brown and competed with the Case Western Reserve Ballroom Dance Team for the next three years. She continued to place in numerous finals in all four categories.
At the DC Dancesport Inferno, Darschelle won the International Jive, the American Cha Cha and Rumba, plus a scholarship for the top Adult american Rhythm Style couple. Since then, Darschelle has continued to dance socially, perform, teach and study. Recently she assisted the coach of the Case Western Reserve Ballroom Dance Society in both teaching and preparing students for the Ohio Star Ball and the Pittsburg DanceSport Championships.
