Red Cirino has been teaching and coaching professionally for over thirty years. She has taught over seven thousand students from children to adults and performed in Ohio, Florida, Virginia, and Michigan. Her teaching career began at the start of attending college at Kent State University while pursuing a degree in dance. She began her training at Fred Astaire Dance Studios after auditioning for a staff placement under the direction of the late Dave Stewart, who was instrumental in starting her career.
She then moved to Virginia where she continued her studies at Old Dominion University, Virginia and the University of Virginia. While attending college she taught for the prestigious Academy of Dance in Williamsburg, Virginia. She was a guest teacher for Old Dominion University for modern dance and taught fitness classes for Chuck Norris at his Karate Studios in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She co-founded a studio with a former partner in Virginia Beach teaching Ballroom Dancing, and performed with a local ballroom dance company.
She returned to Ohio where she was chosen to represent FADS top ten couples in the United States in 1992 with her former partner under the late Coach Joseph Bennetti of Texas. She won many championships, including two nationals, undefeated regionals and state titles and became a finalist at the Ohio Star Ball Championships. During this time she opened her second studio and after 19 years closed the physical location to travel and teach.
Red has performed for many community venues such as WAKR, University of Akron Law Association, trained UA Dance Team for two years, was credited to have several students who also because accomplished professional dancers. She was chosen to be a Presenter for OAHPERD in Columbus, Ohio for the Senor Olympics performing a Professional show and teaching workshops for all teachers in the State of Ohio School System.
She now joins the staff at the excellent studio La Danse Cleveland. “I am happy to join once again with my mentor Esther Rehm and her business partner Tim Brown. A great diverse staff and wonderful students is an expectation of continuing to grow in my knowledge.”
